Bridget + Darcy have one of the most interesting stories on how they met. This Victorian country couple had a rustic country wedding so many could only dream of. Bathed in golden sun light and greenery surrounded we at were in awe at these stunning photos. Congratulations Bridget + Darcy on your wedding and commitment to one another.
#RCREALBRIDE Erika wore the stunning Eco by Pronovias. Bohemian, with an ethnic touch and a healthy dose of romanticism. Those are the three sources of inspiration for this sensational dress with an evasé lace skirt and a soft tulle overskirt, fitted at the natural waist. A design paired with a blouson-style bodice, with guipure ruffles to add movement, where the V-neck accentuates the femininity of the bust. The back, with a wide V-neckline and tied at the top with a slender ribbon, falls with a cascading effect. A dress where the suggestiveness of sheer effects and the delicacy of flowers make for a simply perfect boho-chic design.

THE FIRST SIGHT
We met on our way out to meet friends at the Eureka Night club in Geelong (which now sadly no longer exists!). We were off to a rocky start when I accidentally parked my car over his full can of UDL, which then exploded like a gunshot. He was waiting for a taxi on the street in front of my house and we realised we were heading the same nightclub so I told him to wait while I got ready, needless to say it takes me a long time to get ready so he got sick of waiting and left without me! I wasn’t very impressed… Despite this beginning we still hit it off later that night and I forgave him for leaving me! I like to think it was my dance moves that one him over. We then slowly started catching up and spending more and more time together (outside of the nightclub scene) from that beginning though I never thought I would end up marrying this guy!
THE PROPOSAL
We had been dating for four years (Darcy likes to say he passed his boyfriend apprenticeship). I had absolutely no idea it was coming. One Saturday night he suggested a nice dinner and sunset walk. I was tired as I had been strawberry picking that day with mum (and eaten my body weight in strawberries so I wasn’t particularly hungry) and I just wanted a night in so I whinged and whinged!! He was acting very strange as normally I am the one trying to convince him to do some exercise. I got out of the car complaining how cold it was. He got so nervous he dropped down to one knee almost the moment we stepped out of the car. I screamed and cried, and I have never felt more guilty in my entire life for whinging so much.
THE VENUE
I am lucky enough that my aunty and uncle own the beautiful Quirindi Stables and we both grew up close to this location so there was never any question we would get married anywhere else! We wanted a relaxed location, with some beautiful rural features to have in our photographs and this venue had everything we wanted and so much more. Additionally, my aunty and uncle went above and beyond to make our day completely special.
FAVOURITE MOMENT
My grandfather was very sick with advanced Parkinson’s and my grandma cut herself on his wheelchair the day of the wedding and had to go to emergency and get 17 stitches in her legs! But they were both so determined they got there despite this and Grandma was one of the last to leave! It was so special for me to have all my grandparents there for my special day.
THE DRESS
I am a very indecisive person and so I was worried I would never be able to decide on a dress. I tried on a few at some other bridal boutiques and then I came to RC and every single dress I tried on I loved and I worried I was never going to make a decision. I remember one of the assistants said “Just imagine Darcy is waiting at the end of the aisle and your walking towards him, which dress do you picture that you are wearing?” and in that moment I had instant clarity and I knew which dress was the one. It made me feel completely beautiful it flowed and was feminine and honestly if I could wear it every day for the rest of my life I would.
FINDING THE ONE
My mum cried when they popped the champagne after we found “the one”. The assistants were so attentive, and they were so authentically happy for us when we found the one, we loved. Mum just said it was such a warm environment seeing my sisters so genuinely happy for me looking beautiful, it was a wonderful experience. People ran around finding me accessories to help me complete the look so I could get a more accurate idea of how it would look on the day, it was honestly one of the best days of the whole wedding planning process.
ADVICE FOR OTHER BRIDES
Try to choose vendors that you can really form a connection with and feel as though you have a good rapport with. Our day just seemed to flow seamlessly and there was such a good vibe the entire time. I was completely relaxed the whole day because it was honestly like having a big group of friends around. We were ready with plenty of time to spare which surprised even me as I am notoriously late for everything!
Also, can you give us a tip on how to keep a happy relationship?
As for keeping the relationship alive myself and Darcy we love to have new experiences together visiting new countries, restaurants and cafes, it is so easy to get caught up in the everyday grind of life so I think its important to get out of your comfort zone and spend some quality time together, Preferably with no mobile service!
